An ear warmer or messy bun beanie for those carefree days and nights during chilly weather. This pattern is written to fit most adult head sizes with the medium size as the basis. The instructions for both the ear warmer and messy bun beanie are included. Some suggestions are provided to help with adjusting for the size needed. Please refer to the photo tutorial at the end of the pattern for the trickier parts. The pattern requires one skein of bulky yarn around 109 yds/100 m. It is recommended to find bulky yarn with the smallest diameter (higher yardage for bulky yarn range) if you want to achieve a smaller sized fit.
Unstretched sample measurements: 19 inches in circumference (9.5 inches flat) x 6 inches in height
The ribbed brim can stretch up to 24 inches comfortably.
Tools needed: 8 mm crochet hook, large tapestry needle for weaving in ends
The pattern uses US crochet terminology and is available in English.
